August Schmidt Fahrzeugbau is a company that specializes in the development, production and the accompanying servicing of all kinds of customized vehicles.

For over 150 years we have been producing exclusively in Germany for our customers throughout Europe. Our innovative solutions combined with our excellent quality clearly set us apart from our competitors.

Our aim is to fulfil our customer’s wishes comprehensively. To guarantee first-class high-quality work, every customer has his own professional contact in our company. This person is wholly responsible for the planning as well as the implementation of a project. We are able to help our customers carry out any necessary repairs immediately, thanks to our efficient spare part management. Short downtimes mean improved planning reliability for the deployment of your commercial vehicles.

Reliability and flexibility are very important to us. We pride ourselves on punctuality
and exacting and high quality standards. This ensures that we can provide outstanding
results for our customers.

We carry out all the normal commercial vehicle checks (SP, AU, HU) as well as repair
works directly on site. In addition, Schmidt Trailer & Service offers an immediate service
for hazardous goods vehicles.

Production plant

Our production plant, which has an area of approx. 40,000 m², is ideally situated directly off the A45. Herewe can provide you with the vehicle of your choice. 

Technical office

By implementing the state-of-the-art 3D-CAD technology in our technical office, we can plan and design vehicles individually, according to the customer’s wishes. Quality, functionality and the observance of the technical norms are of the utmost importance to us. We guarantee that, starting from the initial idea and advancing through the development and construction of the finished vehicle, our customers receive everything from one single source.

Moreover, during the entire implementation phase, you will have direct contact with our designers at all times.

• Transport of tunnel segments on sloping loaders
• Just-in-time provision of components needed for car manufacturing
• Immediate delivery of coils for the automobile industry
• Transport of liquid aluminium or gas deliveries in Europe and Asia

are only some of the transport assignments which have been implemented by our vehicles.

Service

Apart from the production of trailers, buildups and special vehicles, we regularly carry out alignments and repair works. Painstaking planning and an excellent supply of spare parts allow for fast and reliable execution of repair work.

Moreover, all current utility vehicle checks (SP, AU, HU) are included in our service.

Certification

Due to the very rapid economic and technological change, CPT (Continuous Professional Training) is essential. Our employees undergo regular CPT and are, therefore, up to date with any developments in the technology used. This therefore guarantees the highest quality of their work.

A comprehensive certificate of qualification with expansion of dynamic range distinguishes us:

We have been certificated according to DIN EN in 1090 part 2 (formerly DIN 18800-7)
Class E (the highest requirement class) and are therefore entitled to produce vehicles according to TPED/GGVS requirements.

We have also been certified for the transport of according to EN VDI 12195-1.

We have been certificated according German Institute for Standardization
EN12642 code XL for a curtain-sider semi-trailer with a payload up to 27,000kg.
